Academic Group’s Head Start Program

The transition at the beginning of every year is an extremely challenging time for most students. The better prepared they are, the more likely it is they’ll reach their academic goals. Successes or failures experienced during this transitional period will impact on their future performance.

Academic Group’s Head Start Program is specifically designed to pave the way for Year 11 and 12 school success. It provides a refresher for students who commenced the new year’s work in Term 4 and an overview/preview of the syllabus and important concepts for those students yet to start.

Study Skills & Essay Writing programs where students can learn effective study methods, time management, goal setting, reading strategies, stress management techniques and a proven formula to write essays in all learning areas.

CLEANING UP

Year 9 Outdoor Ed students did their bit for the environment, heading to local beaches and parks to collect rubbish and learn about environmental awareness last term. More than 25kg of rubbish was collected!
Thank you to Keep Australia Beautiful WA for supplying equipment to collect rubbish and collecting the full bags at the end of the session.

Little Feet Festival 2021

This year’s theme is: Roll Up, Roll Up, It’s Circus Time.

There will be plenty for your little ones to see and do, with stage shows, roaming performers and circus workshops for all ages. They will also enjoy clowning around as they discover the clues to find their way through the Marvellous Maze.

Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Since the first Little Feet Festival in 1993, the event has been held annually providing young families with children an afternoon of free entertainment and activities to enjoy. Professional artists facilitate meaningful experiences for children and their families through creative art activities and performances.

Keep an eye on the City’s website (https://www.joondalup.wa.gov.au/little-feet-festival-7) and Facebook to find out further information.

Remembrance Day Poppies

Poppies will be available in the school reception areas and can be purchased for a gold coin donation in the lead up to Remembrance Day, November 11.

All Poppy Appeal donations go directly into assisting veterans, and their families, in need. The importance of these funds continues to be highly relevant as we support veterans of recent conflicts, such as Iraq, Afghanistan and East Timor, alongside the aging population from past conflicts.
