Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share the official itinerary for this year’s Year 9 HASS Tour, taking place from Sunday 29th of June to Sunday 6th of July. This enriching week-long experience will take students across three major locations — Canberra, Jindabyne, and Sydney — exploring the heart of Australia’s political, cultural, and natural landscapes. The tour offers students a unique opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life through immersive, hands-on experiences that align with Western Australia’s HASS curriculum.
The Year 9 HASS Tour offers students an exciting blend of educational exploration and real-world experiences across Canberra, Jindabyne, and Sydney. In Canberra, students will visit Parliament House, take part in a hands-on democracy workshop at Old Parliament House, and reflect on Australia’s history at the Australian War Memorial. They’ll explore the National Museum and National Portrait Gallery, enjoy the interactive exhibits at Questacon, and take in panoramic views from Mount Ainslie.
From there, the group travels to Jindabyne for a memorable day on the slopes with a full ski lesson in the Snowy Mountains—an unforgettable chance to try something new and challenge themselves in a completely different environment.
The tour concludes in Sydney, where students will cruise the harbour, explore Taronga Zoo, and visit famous landmarks including the Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach. They’ll also dive into maritime history at the Australian National Maritime Museum, rounding out a tour that’s equal parts educational and adventurous.

Just read the itinerary and checked flight is departing 1.05pm Sunday 29th June. Just wondering what time families are going to meet at the airport Sunday and exactly which terminal and where we might make a meeting point ?

Staff and families will be meeting at the foyer in Terminal 4 in the Departures Area at 11:00AM on Sunday the 29th of June. It is here that we will organise to all check-in once everyone has arrived.
