National Skills Week shines a spotlight on Australia’s vocational education and training (VET) system. It seeks to improve the standing of vocational education industry while highlighting the talents, diversity, benefits and career pathways associated with VET. The week celebrates the achievements of practical learners, focusing on the benefits of skills and training. The central thrust of National Skills Week is that it provides the motivation for all stakeholders, be they Career Advisors, Industry Associations, Registered Training Organisations (RTO) or Private Training Providers to do something that promotes VET and the successful outcomes it achieves for the individual, industry and importantly the Australian economy. National Skills Week seeks to mobilise, inform and inspire Australians of all ages to explore the skills needed for a prosperous Australian economy that will provide a fulfilling pathway for their future. Since 2011, SkillsOne has driven National Skills Week, through its State and National launches, supported by the Australian Government. The week will continue to be a celebration of the diversity and opportunities for Australians of all ages in skilled and trade areas.
