St Stephen’s School Umbrellas have arrived just in time to save you from this wild winter weather! You can pick one up for $30 from the Uniform Shop or Secondary Student Services at both Carramar and Duncraig campuses.
The Year 12’s left for their retreat yesterday.
Year 12 retreats are often reported as being one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of a student’s school life. The activities are designed to help prepare these 17 and 18 year-old students to confidently take the final steps to move from childhood to adulthood and being a responsible, well-adjusted member of society.
Year 12 retreats are particularly special because they are often one of the last times students will relax and renew together as a year group. They are facing the prospect of life beyond school, beyond teachers and beyond the school support network that has nurtured them for up to 13 years. These retreats can be very emotional and often give students the opportunity to openly share their feelings, hopes, memories and uncertainties.
“WHAT IS A SCHOOL RETREAT?
A retreat is . . .
We hope they have a wonderful time and an experience to remember!

If you haven’t already had the pleasure – meet Betty (pictured below with our lovely D&T Teacher Mr Matt Kirby). Betty is part of the School’s Service Learning project which will see the beloved old caravan given a makeover and transformed into a mobile food service to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Students have spent time fixing the ol’ gal up, along with help from our community and volunteers. Betty is at the stage where she will soon be fitted with a whole new set of cabinetry courtesy of Kitchen Craftsman. Yet before the Kitchen Craftsman team come in, we have to do some behind-the-scenes work and we need your help!
We’re putting the call out to our community to see if anyone might be interested in helping out with donating any of the below items to get Betty one step closer to hitting the road with the School’s Service Learning programs.
If you are able to help out with donations of any of the below items or even time to work on Betty with us, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Service Learning Coordinator Donna Lund (aka Betty’s best friend) on donna.lund@ststephens.wa.edu.au.
