THANKSGIVING 2020 POSTPONED

March 13, 2020

The Federal Government today advised against any organised events with more than 500 attendees in relation to stemming the community transfer cases of Coronavirus (COVID 19). In accordance with the Government’s advice, and to protect the health and wellbeing of our School community, we have decided to postpone the Thanksgiving Service, which was planned for March 31, until further notice.

We thank you for your ongoing support of our School events and will be in touch with more information when we know it is safe to proceed.

Thank you and take care.

BACKPACK PROJECT

May 23, 2019

St Stephen’s School is working with Surf Dive ‘n Ski to donate 200 Billabong backpacks to UnitingCare West, which will assist children in our community who are unable to go to school with supplies needed for their education. Each Primary class and Secondary homeroom have a backpack to fill with supplies – take a look below to see what items your family can donate to those in need.

GIVING THANKS

May 17, 2019

On Wednesday evening, a group of St Stephen’s School students and staff recognised the outstanding work of WA Charity Direct at the organisation’s Annual Thank You Event. Our School has formed a valuable relationship with WACD over the past couple of years, partnering with them in their Schools Program initiative to help select a charity or cause to receive a $25,000 donation.

Parking Safe

May 15, 2019

Over recent years, we have carefully developed the parking and drive-through arrangements for parents who transport their students to school by car, so that all students, parents and staff are safe at all times.

We would like to remind parents of the need to consider others and the safety of the children when driving and parking around the school.

Parents are reminded that:

The Staff/Visitor Car park is not to be used for student drop off/pick up. Please use the Kiss and Drive facility for this purpose.

The school bus bay must be kept free for bus access.

The Kiss and Drive facility is supervised and offers a very smooth pick-up option after school. Parents are asked to consider using this facility rather than parking.

Our objective is to make every morning drop off and afternoon collection safe and stress-free for everyone.

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

March 8, 2019

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) occurs on the third Friday in March each year. The NDA is an opportunity for students, teachers, parents and the whole community to take a stand together against bullying and violence. This annual day provides a focus for schools who want to say, ‘Bullying. No Way!’ and to strengthen their everyday messages that bullying and violence at school are not okay at any time.

St Stephen’s School Duncraig is a registered NDA school.

On Friday, our School and House Captains will wear ribbons to recognising our commitment to assisting students in recognising and responding to bullying.

R U OK?

September 13, 2018

Today is R U OK? Day.

As we always remain vigilant of how our students, staff and families are, today staff across both campuses came together to ask the question while raising funds for the ever-important message. Asking the question is a start but we are always more interested in finding out the answer.

Salvation Army Immersion Tour with the Year 7’s

September 6, 2018

Recently some Year 7 students went on an excursion to show them how perilous the life of a homeless person can be.

Immersion programs are unique learning experiences that encourage active citizenship via an experiential learning model. The learning is so profound that it aids students in understanding what it means to be part of the human community mindful of the journey of others, especially the most vulnerable.

The excursion started at Greenwood train station and took them to Wellington Square. There guide for the day was Darren.

Below is a short video made by the students.
