Service Excursion Timae

July 17, 2018

A group of ten year 11 and 12 students went to Ronald McDonald House to participate in their ‘Lovin’ from the Oven’ experience. They made morning tea for the families staying in the house. These families have children who are sick in the new children’s hospital and Ronald McDonald House is very much their ‘home away from home’. The students were also given a tour of the facilities, including seeing inside the rooms which families can stay in, the teen hang out area and the roof top garden.

Year 11 and 12 Automotive Engineering and Technology students saw all the behind-the-scenes action at Barbagello Raceway last week at the WA leg of the Supercars, courtesy of the Western Australian Sporting Car Club. Students saw how the cars are set up and how much time is involved in getting everything right.

The ATAR Y11 Human Biology students performed a chicken wing dissection to help associate the musculoskeletal system in humans. They discovered that pulling on the tendons would flap the wings.

Rats Ahoy!

March 23, 2018

This afternoon the Y11 ATAR Biology class investigated all the systems by rat dissection! Students could fully investigate all systems by identifying all the parts and discussing their functions. They even made a time lapse to show the full procedure! Pretty cool!
