Secondary’s Interhouse Triathlon saw our young athletes rise to and conquer the challenge. We have also seen students succeed in the WA All Schools Athletics Championships recently, with Remy Rowse (Year 8) placing third in the Under 14 Girls 1500m race, and Nic Holmes (Year 10) placing first in the Under 16 2km Steeplechase and third in the 1500m race. Well done!

Dear Parents
As indicated in the calendar school closes on Wednesday 11 December at 3:20pm. The closing time on the last day of Term 4 has been under discussion for some time and the move to close at 3:20pm (3:10pm Primary 3-6) is in response to various transport obligations including bus routes. Students will attend a House Farewell in P6 on this day.

Preparations for the 2019 FIRST LEGO League are well underway across Carramar and Duncraig! Primary and Secondary teams are currently creating and coding their robots, studying and rehearsing for their project presentations and, most importantly, trying out their new team t-shirts. Take a look at their training ahead of the competition on Saturday 30 November.
Duncraig Secondary’s 2019 MaDD night has had an update to its title with the introduction of Dance! Join us on Tuesday 19 November at 7pm to see a showcase of Year 10 and 11 solo Music performances, Year 10 student-devised Drama performances and show-stopping routines performed by the St Stephen’s School Dance Company.
Today T4, as part of their Service Learning, visited St Nicholas Church at Duncraig and undertook light cleaning and gardening duties under the supervision of Marty Ashton.
St Nicholas parish are an inclusive community. St Stephen’s students volunteer their time to help this community by lightly cleaning the parish.
Dear Yr 7 and 8 Parents
Earlier in the year your child may have opened a Pinterest account using their school email address. Pinterest is an excellent visual learning tool for students to document their research. Some of your children may have received some diet and body image advertising emails through their school email. You may wish to check with your child to see if they received any of these emails and talk to them about the content.
We have given time and instruction to the students in the classes affected to delete these accounts. Therefore no further emails should be coming through the school email system. Protocols for using such online learning tools are now in place. Here is a link where you can find further information about the protocols and how you can make using this learning tool as private and secure as possible.

Then the Enviro-Club is the club for you! The Enviro-Club is a group dedicated to tackling some of sustainability problems around the school and in our community. We will be setting up sustainable gardens, designing and creating recycling stations and learning about the wonderful world of waste management – and that’s not all! Digital Learning Specialist Secondary – Cross Campus/Teacher – Science
The theatre group Poetry In Action recently visited the Duncraig campus to present ‘Words of War’ to our Year 11 ATAR English and ATAR Literature students. The presentation focused on the works of Wilfred Owen, a WWI poet, and explored the potential and power of words to capture the inhumanity of war. Not only was the performance entertaining, it will help students in preparing for their Semester 2 exams.
Year 7 Indonesian students recently travelled to Elizabeth Quay to attend the Festival Indonesia accompanied by none other than Mrs Donella Beare and Mrs Darnelle Pretorius! The group relished the opportunity to take part in creative workshops including batik painting, storytelling, singing and dancing. What a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Indonesian culture!
