Matilda the Musical – Duncraig Year 8 Student Alfie Jamieson in cast

Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the beloved book by incomparable Roald Dahl has arrived in Perth.

With the book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take stand and change her own destiny.

Duncraig Student, Alfie Jamieson shares the part of playing Nigel in the stage show.

Community Notice from the City of Joondalup

March 7, 2017

 

The City of Joondalup has informed the School that some SSS parents are parking on private property (front yards) along Doveridge Drive.

Some neighbours have voiced their concern to the City.

The City has confirmed it will begin issuing infringements to cars parked illegally.

Please avoid the possibility of being fined or of being unneighbourly.

New Baristas put to the test!

Certificate ll in Hospitality students at Duncraig have been practising their Barista skills as part of the Prepare and Serve Coffee unit of competency.

Mr Hummerston receiving his early morning coffee from Ebonie Fisher; one of our Certificate II in Hospitality baristas.

 

Year 11 students Jaimee Hunter, Jazmine Douglas, Ebonie Fisher from the Certificate II Hospitality class practicing their Barista skills on our commercial espresso machine.

 

This training gives our students the edge when looking for employment in the Hospitality industry.

St Stephen’s School Careers Expo Thursday March 16, 2017

March 2, 2017

On Thursday 16 March the St Stephen’s School Careers Expo will be run from 4:15pm – 6:00pm.

Exhibitors come from University, TAFE, Private Training Organisations and Employer groups.

It is compulsory for Yr 10 students to attend and Yr 11 & 12 students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Students and parents can stay as long as it takes to access the relevant materials.

It will be held in the Duncraig foyer and gym.

CAS Sport

Established in 1937, the Associated & Catholic Colleges of WA is an independent secondary schools sports association providing Sport in the Right Spirit to over 60 schools around the state.

It is the aim of the Coastal Associated Schools, as a Sub-Association of the Associated and Catholic Colleges, to conduct interschool sport, encouraging participation, sportsmanship and healthy competition.

St. Stephen’s School Duncraig is one of the Member Schools.

CAS Sport that is available:

Winter:

  • Soccer (both boys & girls)
  • Netball (girls)
  • AFL (boys)
  • Basketball is currently offered for just Year 7 boys but we are currently discussing introducing Year 7 girls’ basketball.

Summer:

Boys:

AMY REID – ART TALK AT AGWA

Join last year’s alumnus, Amy Reid, at this year’s exhibiting artists in the Year 12 Perspectives gallery space as she discusses her processes, topics and individual work. The talk is hosted by AGWA’s Associate Curator Dunja Rmandić and presented by different student artists.

Come along to hear what our talented young Amy has to say.
