Host families needed! An enriching experience!

February 19, 2020

St Stephen’s School is hosting a group of Japanese primary school students from 27 March – 3 April (1 week ONLY) and we are looking for families within the school community who are willing to host! Hosting gives your family a wonderful opportunity to make an international friendship and integrate a new family member into your daily routine. You will also receive a payment of $315 for hosting a student.

If you are interested or would like more information please contact Gold Intercultural Learning by email homestay@goldil.com.au or 08 9444 7687.

The Karate Kid!

August 3, 2018

Year 10 student Casey Vlahos has recently travelled to Okinawa, Japan as part of the West Australian section of Go-Kan-Ryu karate! This gives Casey the opportunity to train with the highest karate practitioners in the world, some of the whom are descendants of the founders of traditional Okinawan karate.

Wow! Congratulations Casey.

Japan Exchange for Science Teacher

July 1, 2017

It is such a privilege to represent St Stephens as an Exchange Teacher in Japan.  I will be heading off to Tokyo in October where I will get the opportunity to teach in a Japanese secondary school and collaborate with Japanese teachers. Another important task would be to learn some of the culture and hopefully some of the language too.   I will be visiting some visiting some iconic Japanese places.

This is a wonderful opportunity for me to engage my students in this cultural connection and I plan to do this by using my blog.  I would welcome parents and students to be a part of this journey with me by logging onto my St Stephens Japanese Exchange blog where I will be sharing my stories, daily interactions, photos and fun features.

I look forward to this opportunity and hope that you will enjoy this journey with me.
