This term’s Student Leadership breakfast welcomed Mr Mark Wallace, Head of Cyber Security for Fortescue Metals Group, to share some leadership wisdom. Mark provided insight into the complex environments of this organisation, how values and vision guide decision making as well as his own formula for leadership success.

Water on Tap

After hearing from their peers that a chilled water fountain would be an ideal addition to the Library, the Year 12 School Captains decided to collaborate with the School Finance Department and Property Services to put a plan into action. A group of 25 Year 12s took it upon themselves to conduct some Saturday morning garden work at School, with a new water fountain then being installed as a gesture of thanks!

Sambutan Hangat to St Stephen’s School

Today we welcomed students from SMPK Penabur who have travelled from Jakarta to visit as part of a School Immersion Program.

This week they’ll live life as St Stephen’s School students, buddying up with our Secondary Indonesian students who are showing them around campus.

Rookie Debating Grand Final

June 19, 2018

The Theatre was buzzing last Wednesday as Year 6 students from Carramar and Duncraig headed into their Rookie Debating Grand Final. The teams debated whether ‘Space travel is a waste of time and money’ with both sides presenting well-rounded and convincing arguments. In the end, it was Carramar’s rookie debaters who took out the top spot – by just one point! Well done to all our Debating students.

Students and staff have been working incredibly hard and it’s shaping up to be a perfectly peachy production! We hope to see lots of staff and their families here supporting our wonderfully talented students.

(This is the ‘school edition’ of the hit musical – it still contains all the iconic characters and songs, it has just been ‘cleaned up’ a little so that it’s suitable for a school audience.)

Introduction to ClassVR

On a recent PD our Digital Learning Specialist, Mrs Amy Aldous, won a class set of VR Headsets from ClassVR for the school.

ClassVR is a versatile platform using the power of Virtual and Augmented Reality for education and training from the classroom. It’s a ground-breaking technology designed to help raise engagement and increase knowledge retention for students of all ages.

Yesterday teachers were invited to a masterclass of how to use the headsets.
