Drama students have been lucky to learn from some acting experts keen to pass on their expertise in a range of incursions. Year 11 and 12 students enjoyed a workshop with actor and WAAPA lecturer Caitlin Beresford-Ord, thanks to the Black Swan State Theatre Company, while the Year 7s visited the weird and wonderful world of entertainment at an incursion with Zap Circus.
STEM is here to stay and St Stephen’s School is focused on equipping the next generation with these important skills, among others. Our partnership with leading education service provider Fire Tech Australia, who focus on digital technologies and engineering, has seen interest in these areas flourish. As the company’s exclusive northern suburbs host, students from various schools come together each holidays for a series of workshops to explore the world of opportunities.
Last holidays our campuses were a hub of activity where students practiced robotics, artificial intelligence, game design and coding. See more about the partnership in this video.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Though our students weren’t able to travel on the South Africa Service Tour this year, it hasn’t stopped them from giving generously to our friends at Sinethemba Children’s Care Centre. With the money the students raised this year, the Centre was able to purchase new mattresses and three bunk beds, thanking our students and wider community for their kindness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Master Classes for Term 3, 2020
For Senior School and Middle School Students
These small-group seminars for senior school students focus on the ATAR Learning Areas of Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English, Literature, Human Biology, Economics, Politics & Law, Modern History and Psychology.
The program for middle school secondary students focuses on the Learning Areas of English and Mathematics.
The objective of this program is to give students on-going academic support which will reinforce and consolidate the skills and processes learnt during the week at school. It aims to better prepare them for success in school-based assessments and final ATAR examinations.
Students may enrol in these classes at any time during the term and pay pro rata.

As part of their studies on clothing and fashion, Year 9 French students set up a très chic (very stylish) fashion show late last term, modelling their favourite outfits and describing them in French. The crowd, made up of Year 6 students, found the show very informative and entertaining!
