Year 9 Community Service

May 5, 2017

The Year 9 Music class are heading to Bethanie home in Kingsley to interview some of the residents about the music they loved to listen to when younger.  There are some wonderful studies going on regarding the power of music that helps unlock memories for patients with dementia and alzheimers as well as its ability to incite movement and a better physical well being.

The plan is for our students to research the music after the interview and return at a later date with personalised iPods in the hope that we bring a lot of happiness to the residents at Bethanie home.

Do you have a pre-loved or unused iPod at home? Students are asking the community to donate their old iPods for the Music Memory Project at Bethanie Aged Care Home this term.

Donations will be accepted at Admin and Student Services across Duncraig and Carramar.
