ACC Carnival Results

September 15, 2020

On Monday, we won the ACC “C” Division Carnival achieving promotion to “B” Division in 2021!!

We came away with the Overall Winner’s trophy as well as:

·         the Overall Girls trophy

·         the Senior Girls trophy

·         the Junior Girls trophy

We were neck and neck with Irene McCormack for most of the day, with the carnival being won as a result of our consistent and dominant relay teams.

CAMARADERIE AT ITS BEST

August 25, 2020

Our Secondary students shone at the ACC Senior Netball Championship Carnival last week, with both Carramar and Duncraig sending a squad. When neither team made it to the finals, they united to play a fun ‘friendly’ match. What a great display of teamwork from our students!

SURF’S UP

August 21, 2020

Ready for an action-packed competition, secondary students were keen to participate in the SunSmart School Surfing Titles on Tuesday. Tackling tricky conditions the boys put up a great fight, with two teams making it to the Semi Finals before unfortunately being knocked out.

Senior Boys Basketball Team have capped off a successful season with the announcement that they are the overall CAS winners for 2020! The boys will now play in the ACC knockout rounds, playing against the top schools from across WA for the Championship title. The first game is this Wednesday at 4pm in the Duncraig Gym so be sure to come along and cheer them on.

After eight long years without a Carnival victory, Alethea have been crowned the winners of the Duncraig Secondary Interhouse Athletics Carnival! Congratulations to all our students and staff for their extraordinary efforts on and off the track.

Cross Country

July 2, 2020

This morning we held our 2020 Cross Country carnival with 288 students competing across the six year groups. In the perfect conditions there were a number of year group records broken, as well as the overall course record being beaten with a time of 13:24.73 by Nick Holmes (Alethea Year 11). First across the line for the girls was Crystal Edwards (Carana Year 11) with a time of 16:50.13.

The overall house results were as follows:

3rd: CARANA 1029 points 

2nd: ALETHEA 1249 points

1st: TIMAE 1276 points.

ACHIEVEMENTS REWARDED

May 18, 2020

The four athletes enrolled in the Elite Athlete Program received recognition for their hard work at a small presentation this morning. They have all adapted exceptionally well during these times and are now looking forward to when they can return to their normal training sessions!

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

Five Year 10 teams and three Year 11/12 teams recently took part in the School Sport WA Touch Rugby Competition. Made up of Sport Science students, the teams enjoyed an action-packed day, with the Year 12 Girls team particularly showing their strength on the field!
