Gel electrophoresis is a technique commonly used in laboratories to separate charged molecules like DNA according to their size.
They were investigating how this could be applied within forensics and biological conservation.

Aiming to conquer an important step in the life of a high school student, Year 7s participated in tie-tying sessions to become more familiar with the winter uniform. Teachers say the results were varied, but a lot of fun was had by all!
In Human Biology we are learning about the effects of macro and micro nutrients in the body. We had samples of common foods we eat and identified what food groups they belong to, and how the body would digest each type of food. Georgia La Monte and Georgia McCluskey are the stars who got positive results in their experiment.

Good afternoon,
With the wet weather setting in, we have noticed more parents driving their children to and from school. The increased number of people on the roads can result in some traffic standstills in the turning circle and we just wanted to remind parents to be mindful of the staggered School finishing times for Primary and Secondary, who both use the turning circle, and how to aid the flow of traffic on and outside our campus.
We thank you for your understanding and know that we ask this to minimise the time you spend in the traffic, to ensure the safety of students and also to prevent any parking fines for those stuck in traffic on the surrounding streets.

The Senior Boys Cricket Team were the team to beat before all matches were stopped earlier this year. They’ve now finished at the top of their pool and rank third out of 37 schools across the state. Though the usual celebrations aren’t able to take place, we are super proud of the boys and their efforts this year.
Year 11 Food Science and Technology students are continuing to impress with their evolving culinary skills and knowledge. Their latest creation: pink poached pears with rice pudding and a toffee garnish. Yum!
Year 7 French students have been thinking outside the box to practise their French this week. Learning the French words for school subjects, days of the week and times, students have been doing a running dictation activity outside.
Mastermind Australia will be delivering Revision and Exam Preparation Programs in the July school holidays.
The programs will be held at Christ Church Grammar School and Guildford Grammar School in the first week of the holidays, and at Hale School, MLC, Quinns Baptist College and Ashdale Secondary College in the second week. An online virtual classroom program will also be held over both weeks.
