The Year 8s are learning about energy in Physics this term. Today they were observing the transfer of energy by spinning snakes with their favourite piece of lab equipment, the Bunsen burner!

The gravity of the situation…
March 20, 2018As part of the Year 9 Earth and Space Science course, the students have been looking at how gravity played a significant role in the formation of the solar system and the planets within it, including the Earth.
The students simulated the curving of space time and how this causes matter to clump together and in some cases, go into orbit!

Mousetrap? Year 9 Science
November 27, 2017As part of their study of the Scientific Method, the Year 9 Science students planned, designed, built and tested an original Rube Goldberg machine, with the aim of catching a mouse!
The students incorporated a number of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics principles to make the machine work. After multiple test runs and various last minute adjustments, the students were ready for a final attempt. There were a few little hiccups, but on the whole it was a success.
