Term 3 Buddy Time

Dear Parents

The focus of our Buddy Time this term links in with Book Week. As such, we would like our buddies to spend time reading together. Our first buddy session of the term will be on Wednesday afternoon and to celebrate book week we would request that each student brings in a book to share with their buddy.

They could bring in their favourite picture book, their favourite chapter book or perhaps the book that they are using for their dress up character for the book parade which is happening this Thursday at 9.00am. Please make sure that the book is clearly labelled with their name.

Our ‘big’ buddies will spend some time reading to their ‘little’ buddies and then chat about their favourite books.

Reading is so important and such a wonderful thing to share with others.

Kind regards

Carrey-Ann Dicks

Costume Shop

Remember to check out the Costume Shop for great Book Week costumes. Costume hire is $5.00 (cash only) per costume and is available to staff, students and parents. You will find a list of available costumes for hire here Costume Hire List

Opening Date: Wednesday 4 August

Open Wednesday 2.30pm – 4.00pm
Open Thursday 8.30am – 9.30am

Closing Date:  4.00pm Thursday 26 August

You will find the Costume Shop in the Technology Building – enter through the entrance to the side of the building and turn right towards the classrooms at the back of the building.

To make this a success, we are looking for volunteers to help run the shop during the designated opening times.  Please email Karyn Hinder at hinder@internode.on.net or Bronwyn Doak at bronwyn.doak@yahoo.com if you are able to help.

The Costume Shop is always accepting donations of costumes – please leave at Reception/Student Services.

All money raised from the hire of costumes will go to charity.

Children’s University

We are almost in Spring and so I have attached the Spring Challenge Booklet. Each activity is worth 30 minutes. Pick and choose which ones you would like to complete.  This is a great way to make up to 5 hours for those students needing a few more hours to qualify for graduation.

Next passport stamping session is this Thursday 26 August in the library at lunch time.
