Term 3, Week 9

Disco

On behalf of the St Stephen’s Carramar Primary School community, I would like to extend a huge thank you to Lejaun Holmes and Amy Prouse for their hard work in organising a very successful disco. Our students enjoyed a fun evening of music, games and dancing and together, we raised a record $2050.

Virtual Reality First Aid Training

Last Thursday the Carramar  Year 5 and 6 students attended a first aid training program with St John WA. St John WA now provide first aid training using virtual reality. The program means students get the opportunity to experience first aid in a safe and virtual world. Students interact with virtual patients, learn how to provide assistance and call for help.

The students had a lot of fun while acquiring essential first aid skills.

The Power of Speech Competition 2022

On Saturday 10 September the annual Power of Speech competition was held at the Telethon Speech and Hearing centre in Wembley. Three of our students from St Stephen’s took part in the competition Jacob Lloyd, Eamon Doak and Kealan Doak. The competition involved choosing a topic to speak about, writing the speech and lots of practise in preparation. On the day of the competition each of our students stood up on large stage in front of two hundred people and some professional speakers (including Geoff Parry from Channel 7) to deliver their speeches, which was a huge achievement! Our students had an awesome outcome with Eamon and Kealan Doak both winning the trophy for best speaker in their category. Congratulations to all three students, you did a fantastic job!
