We would like to thank you for your ongoing support through the ever changing environment we find ourselves in. We have been overwhelmed with the community’s appreciation of the way our amazing staff have handled the current situation. Your emails and words of encouragement mean a lot to us.

Below is one of the many beautiful messages we received, this one anonymously. We cannot express enough how the kindness and understanding of our community has lifted the spirits of our staff. THANK YOU!

Explaining COVID-19 to children

Dear Parents,

In addition to the email sent earlier by our Principal Mrs Beare, please see below a video link from Dr Michael Carr-Gregg giving advice to parents on how to best educate their children about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We encourage you to view this video and have a conversation with your child. Staff have been handling the situation very calmly with students over the last couple of weeks, ensuring that school is a safe place where they can learn, enjoy each other’s company and where normality is paramount.

A message from our Eco-Warriors

We are the Eco- Warriors and part of our job is to think of ideas to help our school become an eco-friendly school.

We have decided as eco warriors that we would like to introduce: WASTE FREE WEDNESDAY!

With waste free Wednesday, this hopefully will save the environment a bit more and less plastic in our community.

The point of the waste free Wednesday is not to bring in food with any type of wrappers on it including candy, muesli bars and any other wrappers.

This is to reduce the amount of waste that we produce as a school. Instead of packing food with wrappers, please can we encourage parents to put your food for recess and lunch in reusable containers on a Wednesday.

Remember to be eco safe, but not just at school but also at home as well.

Year 3 – 6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival

A reminder that the Year 3 – 6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival is taking place this Thursday 27 February at HBF Arena Joondalup. Students must arrive at school by 8.25am, in order for the buses to depart at 8.45am. Buses will depart HBF Arena Joondalup at 2.45pm.

What to bring/wear:

  • Students must bring all food and drink they require for the day – the Café is not accessible for students.
  • House Uniform, towel and bathers – no two-piece bathers.
  • Labelled school bag or alternative backpack
  • Swimming caps and goggles are highly recommended – we encourage students to wear swimming caps that match their House colour for extra House spirit!

Reminders:

  • Students will be seated in their House bays and there will be separate seating for spectators. We would appreciate your help in keeping our House Bays entirely for staff and students, to ensure the safety of our students at all times.
  • If your child is leaving with you at the end of the Carnival, they must be signed out by their class teacher.
  • Students should not be signed out early before the end of the carnival – we would like to see the stands filled with House Spirit during the novelty events and relays! We appreciate your support in this matter.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing your children swim at the 2020 Primary Interhouse Swimming Carnival!
