Term 1, Week 1

Welcome Back to School!

We hope that everyone has had a lovely summer break and has come back energised and rested. We look forward to the many learning opportunities that lay ahead this year.

Parent Information Evening

A reminder that the Year 3 and 4 Parent Information Evening will be held this evening at 6.30pm. The Year 5 and 6 Parent Information Evening will be taking place tomorrow evening, 5 February at 6.30pm. Thank you to all PK to Year 2 families who have already attended their respective Information Evenings.

If your child was absent from school today (Tuesday 4 February) they will have an opportunity to take part in the school photo catch-ups this Thursday 6 February. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct formal uniform (no sport uniform) on the day.

Kindy photos will be taking place on Monday 10 February.

Pre-Kindy photos will be taking place on Wednesday 19 February.

If you wish to purchase school photos, please check details on your child’s photo envelope (this envelope should be coming home with your child today).

Our next Primary assembly will be lead by our 6CU students on Wednesday 12 February at 2.55pm.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Please keep an eye on a special blog which will be sent to you later this week regarding information about this term’s extra-curricular program.

Class Representatives

If you are interested in becoming a Class Representative this year, please submit your expression of interest with your classroom teacher. Leadership will be in touch with successful candidates in the coming weeks.

Please note that the designated staff car park (including the turning circle) is not to be used by parents. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Lost Property

As mentioned at our first Assembly, the lost property on display in the Primary Forum will be disposed of by the end of the week if not claimed. Please help yourself before it all goes!!!

Make a Difference

Our Secondary School South Africa Tour students are looking forward to visiting JJ Haven and Sinethemba children’s homes in April with a group of 18 Year 10 students from both campuses. To help students less privileged, the team is asking our community if they have any of the following items to donate:

  • Priority items include black school shoes of any size, school bags and pencil cases.
  • Uniforms, particularly grey trousers and white polos.
  • Non-liquid toiletries including toothbrushes and sanitary pads.
  • Children’s clothing – particularly warm items.
  • Sports shoes, soccer boots (boys and girls), soccer kits

We, of course, welcome any donations from our school community but the above specific items will make a real difference in people’s lives.

Donations can be dropped in a labelled box located in the Primary Forum until 23 March.

Thank you in anticipation for your generosity.

The South Africa Tour Team
