Term 4 – Notices – Week 3

Welcome to Week 3,

Our school is always a fantastic place to be during Synthesis week, as we are able to see the incredible art work produced by our students at St Stephen’s. We are tremendously grateful to our passionate and committed staff who are able to work with the children and unlock their talent, but, more importantly, we are able to celebrate the wonderful work produced by the students. If you haven’t had a chance to see the exhibition in the Primary Village and Cousins Hall, please come before it closes on Wednesday afternoon.

This week also brings a lot of excitement, particularly on Friday as it is our Orientation Day. This is where the students will experience moving to the next year to get a glimpse of what life is like in the year above. For most year groups, the day is reasonably straight forward. However, for the Year 2 students, you will be able to start the day over in the 3-6 space, before being walked back later that morning. It promises to be an exciting day as we welcome some new families to the school.

WEEK AHEAD:

23-25 October – Synthesis Exhibition, Cousins Hall and Primary Village

ELC

27 October – Orientation Day

27 October – Primary Disco

27 October – Orientation Day

Wishing you a wonderful week,

Pre-Primary – Year 12 ‘Synthesis’ Art Exhibition

Thank you to all students and families that attended the Exhibition Opening on Thursday night. I’m sure that you will agree that the art was outstanding, the band was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious!

Synthesis will be open in the High School Foyer until 25 October, and in the Primary School (before and after school) until November 3. We encourage you to come along and celebrate the fantastic creative achievements of all our talented students.

Interschool Basketball Competition

Congratulations to the four teams that represented St Stephens at last Friday’s interschool competition. We had a very successful day. All teams played six games. One of our girls teams had 4 wins and 2 losses. Both of our boys teams had 5 wins and 1 loss and our other girls team walked away with a perfect record of 6 wins. There are some very talented basketballers in our school and I would like to thank our coaches, Mr Jason Ponosh, Mr Daniel Shadbolt and Mr Joe McCarthy for taking the time to hone their skills and talents and to give our students such a fun and positive basketball experience.

Finally, thank you to our wonderful students that continue to demonstrate that beautiful balance of competitiveness and sportsmanship.
