House Logos

Following on from our announcement of the House logo update earlier this year, we are excited to announce the new emblems for each House to wear with pride moving forward. The extensive design process saw students submit their own ideas for the logo update, which were compiled into three final designs that went to a vote among staff and students who selected the winning creations. The updated logos bring consistency across the School and a more modern look for our next generation.

Farewell to Mrs Gray from the ELC last Friday

The gentlemen in Year 2 all presented Mrs Gray with a flower from the garden and a bow of respect for the Queen of their hearts! Kind words, prayers and blessings were all shared with Mrs Gray. Mrs Thorne lead the school in a touching round of ‘Goodbye Farewell’ – lyrics below.

Heart-felt Lyrics to the ‘Staff Farewell’ song for Mrs Gray

Special thanks to the super-talented Mrs Boughton for these lyrics, to be sung to the tune of the Spice Girls hit – Stop! Mrs Gray was presented with a Scrapbook of  ‘Well Wishes’ from each student in the Primary K-6, then flowers and a framed poem from parents.

Pillars of Our School

Over the years, thousands of students have entered our Primary School from Doveridge Drive each morning, walking past posts that remind them what of what the qualities of a St Stephen’s student are; Confidence, Organization, Resilience, Getting Along, Persistence.  This year, some of the Primary House Captains brought it to our attention that not only were these posts weathered and worn, but they also didn’t reflect our renamed ‘Keys to Success’ found in our diaries and used throughout our School on a daily basis.  We began a project to renew these important pillars to personal growth starting with researching and designing a prototype, collaborating with our Secondary design staff to plasma cut the new posts out of sheet metal, painting the posts and signs and finally assembling the finished product.  We are really proud of the students that we grow at St Stephen’s and our Keys to Success is an important scaffold in which we teach our young people the skills to be able to proactively and positively affect their community both now and into the future.  A special thanks to Mr Greg Hatfield for his support of this project.

OSH News

We hope everyone had a safe and lovely break during the school holidays. During the last week of the school holidays we had a program running at OSH. Children and educators had lots of fun doing arts and crafts, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, celebrating Christmas in July, searching for bugs outside, dressing up in our pyjamas and having messy play. We even had the Mindarie Regional Council come out to OSH club and educate us on recycling. Children engaged in a range of recycling activities and furthered their understanding of keeping our community clean and free from rubbish. We were also very lucky to have the Kingsway Soccer Club coach come out and teach the children how to play soccer. Children engaged in a range of different soccer drills and learnt new skills.

We truly had a wonderful time filled with laughter, friendships and happiness.

This term we are focusing on recycling and up-cycling. We also very excited to connect with our local community and have them come to visit us at Osh club. Educators have organised an ambulance, puppet show, police visit and community bird watchers to come spend the afternoons with us!

If you would like any further information please come and visit our friendly staff.

Rachel- OSH Club, Coordinator.

Inter-house Music Festival
