Thank you to all who brought in their gold coin donations for our last Free Dress Day. Road safety reminder

Welcome back to a new term. Parking and overall traffic congestion around school is an ongoing issue and is further exacerbated with vehicles parking in contradiction to parking signs, on footpaths or in dangerous locations such as on bends at intersections.  So to minimise this issue below are a few suggestions to ease stress during these periods:

Organise with your child to meet in a pre-arranged location away from the busier areas after school.

Tell your child/ren that you will arrive a little bit later after the final bell and advise them to wait within the school grounds until you get there.

Use the Kiss and Drive appropriately.  This means if your child is not there, drive around until you see your child waiting.

Park further away and walk to meet your child.

Thank you for your ongoing support in this regard.

Vac Swim

Enrol your children now in VacSwim swimming lessons during the summer school holidays.

With swimming pools and beaches a part of the Western Australian lifestyle, ensuring your children learn how to swim is a must for all families

Your children can join in the fun of learning to swim in lessons run at pools and open water venues across the State. VacSwim is for all children – from beginners through to advanced survival, rescue and resuscitation.

Your children can learn to swim for just:
· $7.00 per child for a five day short program
· $13.00 per child for all other programs.
It’s even cheaper if you have three or more children: · $18.00 a family for a five day short program
· $35.00 a family for all other programs.

To find out more about VacSwim and to enrol online please visit the website,

Bike Racks in the Primary

At the start of this term our Secondary School bike racks were moved to more secure locations. This move was prompted by some bike thefts last term.   The Primary bike racks remain in their usual spot, adjacent to the Music Rooms, closest to the Primary Oval.   An additional rack has now been installed.

Thanks to all those families who have supported the community with meals for our Community Freezer.  It’s the start of the term and the freezer needs filling up again  … so if you can cook an extra meal for a family in need, we would really appreciate your help.

A Note for Parents

Dear Parents

Just a reminder that there are no staff on duty in the playgrounds before 8.10am.  Students who arrive at 8am, may visit the Library.  If at all possible, we would appreciate students arriving at school after 8.10am.  We are unable to offer duty of care until 8.10am.

In the afternoon, staff are on duty from 3.10pm – 3.30pm.  Whilst we encourage families to stay after school and enjoy being in community, we are unable to provide duty of care after 3.30pm.  To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children, we ask that parents are present after 3.30pm to provide supervision.

OSH Club is available for all Primary students at the ELC, for before school and after school care.  Their website is www.oshclub.com.au

Thank you for your kind consideration in this regard.
