Action Around our Primary School

The Lion King

It was with great pride that we saw all of our Staff and Students from Years 3-6 present The Lion King Performance. Thank you to Mrs. Thorne, Mrs. Edmunds and their team, for all their work in directing choreography, stage presence, speaking, acting, costume creations, theatre designs, making of props, percussion groups and lighting, just to name a few. Thank you also, to all our staff for their support and assistance with the children. There is no denying that The Lion King was a roaring success!

Kindy Orientations

Last Wednesday, our dynamic Kindy Team hosted the first of their orientation sessions for the children coming into Kindy next year. The parents stayed for the duration of the sessions and loved seeing their children’s excitement when they received their goodie bag and their own gorgeous school teddy bear. The children were disappointed that they had to go home and asked if they were returning the following day!

Year 6 Camp

Our Primary Student Leaders attended their annual Year 6 Camp, based at Rottnest. An excited bunch of ninety five children and staff from the primary school and Year 7 left early on Monday morning, looking forward to three days away. One of the purposes of the camp was to allow the children to experience and enjoy the natural beauty of Rottnest and to be challenged physically, spiritually and socially through tasks designed to help them grow. The children were grouped in their Houses, or better named, Tribes. All the planned activities invited them to connect and collaborate in forming stronger relationships with one another. Thank you to all the staff involved in creating this amazing opportunity for our students to enjoy.

Year 2 Parents Meet the Year 3 Teachers

To ensure a smooth transition for our Year 2 students into the Primary, we held an afternoon whereby the Year 2 Parents met the Year 3 Teachers. It was an enjoyable afternoon, as the parents were able to hear about Year 3 and were given the time and opportunity to ask questions about the coming move. It was  lovely getting to know each other before the Year 2 Orientation Day into Year 3.

NIPPSA Inter-Schools Athletics Carnival

We were so proud of the Primary Students who took part in the NIPPSA Inter-Schools Athletics Carnival. They gave of their best during the day and were real ambassadors for our school.

Year 5 Orientation Day

We welcomed many new and wonderful families to our school. The new students were made to feel welcome very quickly and we felt so proud of the way in which our children hosted them with pride in our school.

Pre-Primary Pirates

Last Friday, our Pre-Primary’s came dressed up as Pirates for their Pre-Primary camp. They enjoyed a day of fun activities such as walking the plank and playing in the pirate ship. Later in the afternoon, they delighted in watching a Magic Show and then had dinner at school. The evening culminated in more outside play and a video. Everyone went home in the evening with happy memories of a wonderful day.
